Nestled directly on the iconic, tree-lined promenade known as The Green, this intensive exterior refresh breathed new life into two celebrated architectural treasures: Warner Hall (the university’s renowned Wellbeing Center) and neighboring Laurel Hall.

Located just steps from the bustling student hub of Main Street and the Morris Library, this high-profile institutional project demanded strict adherence to structural safety standards and historical preservation practices. Our expert crew meticulously revitalized these heavily trafficked Georgian-style brick landmarks, preserving their rich collegiate legacy while ensuring robust weather defense against Delaware’s seasonal extremes.

Scope of Work & Technical Execution

The exterior envelope of both Warner and Laurel Halls required specialized care to address years of environmental wear, soot, and organic growth without jeopardizing the vintage integrity of the masonry and woodwork. Paddy’s deployed a structured, multi-phase technical approach:

The project was a multi-phase approach starting with high-precision pressure washing to clean the historic brick, followed by specialized architectural prep work including hand-scraping and caulking on millwork and pillars, and concluding with the application of high-performance commercial paint to pillars, trim, windows, railing, soffit & fascia, to preserve the vintage integrity.
